Hello. For the most part, this site is a pet project of mine. I have links to my socials and Etsy, but at the moment I'm just maintaining this site for fun.
I came up with the name "Wizard's Wagon" because I like old wagons (particularly those colorful European vardos), fantasy magic, and alliteration.
Some years ago I had the idea to design and build a vardo, and then catalogue the process on the internet. Obviously, I lost interest in doing that because I'm lazy and poor, but the name I came up with for such a site stuck around.
Site best viewed on a 1920x1080 display. Tested on Chrome, Firefox (some fonts don't work on this), and Edge (but designed for Chrome mainly). Made with Notepad++, duct tape, and bubblegum. As always, site is a work in progress.
If things look out of place, please clear your browser's cache. Thank you for visiting.
I like art: I like making art, and I have an interest in art as it pertains to the human condition. I think art is one of the most significant aspects of human culture and our lives are poorer without it, especially art of quality.
The definition of art and the way in which art is valued are subjective, but I think most people who appreciate art (even conceptually) can agree that "good" art is important, and we need more of it.
Whether or not you think my art is good is up to you, but I like making it and I like trying my best to make things good by my own metric.
Ultimately, I find both the creation of art and bearing audience to it enjoyable; all aspects of art are just fun and deeply rewarding to me.
I don't really like mass social media. I make art because I enjoy it, and post it because I want to share it.
One of, if not the most significant, contributing factors to me making this site in the first place was my want for a more creative, personalized, outlet for artistic expression that wouldn't rely on algorithmic dissemination of its contents.
Mass social media, through its design and reward systems, discourages specific types of creative production, thereby reducing its value as a genuine vehicle for expression, which is boring. I think you should just make whatever you want to make.
I do have other socials over on my links page, but working on this site is more enjoyable.
